Who am I?

Sometimes, I don't even know.
But I can tell you some things for certain.
I'm saved by grace and constantly seeking to grow in my faith. I ask a lot of questions, and that doesn't scare me anymore. I seek to follow Jesus, not some manmade version of Him that we've constructed.

I'm married to my first kiss, my best friend, and my voice of reason.

I'm a former high school English teacher, current local magazine writer/editor, and mommy to our rainbow baby, KO. She makes me want to be stronger, better, smarter, kinder, and more caffeinated.

I blog for me, but I like if something I write speaks to you on some level. Because we're humans and we crave connection, and when we connect, we know we're not alone.

The title for this blog was conceived shortly after I read Walt Whitman's Song of Myself in which he writes, "I too am not a bit tamed, I too am untranslatable,/I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world."

I, too, wanted to sound my yawp, but not barbarically. Thus, this is my unbarbaric yawp. Thank you for listening to it, friend.
